Cookie Policy
Last updated 5 August 2026
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. This policy explains which ones Switchly uses and why.
1. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They do not require your consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID | Keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Until you close your browser |
sw_consent | Remembers your answer to this banner, so we do not ask again | 1 year |
If you are only browsing and applying for jobs, these are normally the only cookies you will receive.
Analytics
These help us understand how the site is used. They are only set if you consent.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Maintains session state | 2 years |
Google Analytics receives your IP address and information about the pages you visit. Google processes this outside Canada. See Google's own privacy documentation for what it does with that data.
Advertising
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not run ads, and we do not allow anyone else to track you across other websites from here.
2. Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing but the strictly necessary cookies is set until you answer.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
If you decline, the site works exactly the same. You lose nothing.
3. Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
4. Other third-party content
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This does not set a cookie, but it does mean your IP address is sent to Google's servers when a page loads. We plan to host these fonts ourselves, which will remove this transfer.
Payment pages are hosted by Stripe, which sets its own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud. Stripe's cookie policy governs those.
